Now that's what I call...

JAZZ!

Swearing never to adopt another dog again and subject myself to the heartbreak that Elf caused, the most recent addition to our household came as somewhat of a surprise to both the family and myself. Still not sure how Jazz happened but she did and as it's been over 2 months now so I guess introductions are in order.
Rescued from a pound in Wales she is a 6 year old (approx) lurcher and a complete and utter Daddy's Girl!

Jazz's first day

Adopting a dog during the wettest month on record was not one of our best ideas!

BONE-FIDE RESULTS EVERY TIME

My favourite prop from the entire Harry Potter series has to be from The Chamber of Secrets.
I stated that this was the one thing I really wanted to see on the tour (a girl of modest tastes me) so my Little Sis was a bit nervous incase it wasnt there. Luckily for her it was otherwise the entire day would have been RUINED (just kidding... kind of)
Anyway, step forward Skele-Gro. Such a handsome chap that I've given him a page all to himself !

WB Studio Tour Part 2

LETS GO OUTSIDE!

It was c-c-cold that day so we didn't hang around outside for too long but my top tip for this area is to avoid the Butter Beer, which is basically brown Cream Soda with whipped cream on top, grossly overpriced and well, gross!!

The Knight Bus

The Bridge at Hogwarts

The Potters Cottage
Hang on in there, last instalment coming up...

Warner Bros Studio Tour Part 1

SPOILER ALERT!!
My little sis took me to the Harry Potter, Warner Bros Studio Tour and it was ah-mazing.
I won't write too much here as if you haven't been it will spoil the experience (in fact if that's the case I suggest you look away now) and if you have been this is old news. Which begs the question "Why bother to blog this at all?!" - to relive the magic, that's why!

Captured Lightning

A photo of 'Captured Lightning' or more technically, The Lichtenberg Figure, which can appear on the bodies of people who have been struck by lightning.

I like to think that we are one part of the whole so when nature is mirrored in various forms it gives me a nerdy thrill!

Mississippi River Delta

Fern pattern on slate

Tree roots (no, really!)

The Grand Canyon from space. I suppose the last one is a bit of a cheat as it's also created by water but you get the idea.
Sympatico!!

Seal Fish Find

Continuing on the theme of charity shops, I found this little fishie on sale for £1 the other day. Don't know why he appealed to me but I parted with 100 whole pennies on a whim.
When I got him home I noticed a tiny signature on the base and after nearly going boss eyed with the effort I finally deciphered the name 'Lalique.'
I was so flippin excited as I've always wanted to own a piece by Lalique but it's rather out of my price range! After a bit of research I found they were produced to buy individually or as a collection - the design comes in a range of colours and you can create a multi coloured shoal if you have the money and the inclination. Granted this little fella is very modern and not worth thousands but I am very happy to have him on my shelf. Now all I need to do is cultivate some less materialistic ambitions!
