Watts Chapel

The Watts chapel just up the road from the Watts Gallery in Compton is such a little gem and I enjoy visiting it as much as the gallery itself.

Each time I walk up the slope to the carved door I feel a little bit excited because I know that on the other side is the most incredibly decorative interior.

A mix of Celtic and Byzantine styles creates an atmosphere which is somehow both overwhelming and comforting

Each time I visit I see a new detail that I hadn't noticed before like this little Arum Lily. Simply wonderful.
